Will Baldet has worked in counter terrorism for over thirteen years and has extensive experience of both policy and policing within the Prevent strand of the UK’s counter terrorism strategy, CONTEST.
He has been a consultant for the Office for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) and is a member of the EU-funded Radicalisation Awareness Network (RAN) Europe. He has twice been a speaker at the Global Counter Terrorism Forum (GCTF) and has consulted on behalf of EU member states to inform their responses to radicalisation, offering his perspectives on national and local government, police and civil society. He has supported international governments with the development of their counter radicalisation programmes, including the Netherlands, Malta and Kazakhstan and was the UK representative for the inaugural 2015 UN General Assembly (UNGA) Youth Summit in New York.
He is a Senior Fellow at the Institute for Strategic Dialogue (ISD), a Policy & Practitioner Fellow at the Centre for the Analysis of the Radical Right (CARR) and is currently employed as a Regional Prevent Strategy Coordinator in the UK. In 2020 he was awarded an MBE for his services to counter terrorism.
Will is a regular commentator on counter terrorism and has appeared on a number of media outlets, including BBC Newsnight, Channel 4 News, BBC News, Sky News and CNN.
