Timothy Groh

Deputy Director, Terrorist Screening Centre, Federal Bureau of Investigation
Timothy P. Groh assumed the role of Deputy Director for Operations (DDO) at the Terrorist Screening Center in April 2016. As DDO he supervises the continuous watchlisting and encounter management of known and suspected terrorists in the United States and amongst foreign partners. He previously served for nearly three years as the Deputy Assistant Director in the Human Resources Division (HRD) where he supported the human capital needs of the FBI and its more than thirty-five thousand employees deployed world-wide. Mr. Groh served as the Executive Program Manager of the FBI’s Leadership Development Program (LDP) from 2011 until 2013. Prior to LDP, Mr. Groh served as an Administrative ASAC in the Washington Field Office. From July 2007 until July 2010, he served as a Unit Chief in the Human Resources Division’s Employee Development and Selection Program. From 2003 until 2007, Mr. Groh led the Joint Terrorism Task Force in the Palm Beach County Resident Agency in the Miami Division.
Mr. Groh began his career as a Special Agent in 1996. His first assignment was to the Miami Division where he worked counterterrorism investigations. On September 11, 2001 he was serving at the Miami International Airport as the division’s counterterrorism aviation liaison and hijacking coordinator. Mr. Groh earned a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from Emory University and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Miami. He is a member of the Florida and New York bars.
