Contingency Planning & Resilience Manager, South East Coast Ambulance Service

Alex joined the South East Coast Ambulance (SECAmb) service in 2011 working as a Paramedic before joining the Hazardous Area Response Team. After three years working in HART he moved to Canterbury Christ Church University working as a lecturer on the paramedic programmes including modules in major incident response over the course of nearly three years.

After completing a Masters in Disaster Healthcare from the University of South Wales Alex moved briefly into local authority emergency planning. Work included mass fatality planning in the Local Resilience Forum (LRF) and rest centre planning for district councils. Alex returned to SECAmb to take up a role in contingency planning and resilience supporting the Trusts EU exit team in preparing a response to a potential no deal EU Exit.

During the EU Exit preparations Alex has been responsible for the Trust internal resourcing planning and the debriefing of the wider EU Exit preparation and response.
