Interorganisational cooperation at mass events

05 Mar 2019
Mass events such as music festivals, fairs, or popular sport events are temporary crowded places with an increased risk. In order to produce safety and security at mass events, different actors with different logics and structures form a network of interaction. We look at these security networks from a sociological point of view and present results of our empirical research in Germany where 13 events between 2017 and 2018 have been investigated, > 60 expert interviews have been conducted, and more than 5.000 visitors have been surveyed. The research took place in the publicly funded research project
